Dr. Ann Marie Schmidt's laboratory discovered RAGE, a receptor for advanced glycation end products. Her goal is to define the roles for RAGE/DIAPH1 in homeostasis and disease and to drive the development of novel antagonists of RAGE signaling as clinical therapeutic agents for disorders in which RAGE and its ligands accumulate.
