James Januzzi, MD

Dr. James Januzzi is the Hutter Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Guideline Directed Medical Therapy Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Director of Heart Failure and Biomarker Trials at the Baim Institute for Clinical Research. He is a Trustee of the American College of Cardiology and an Editor at the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Januzzi has spent his career focusing on optimizing diagnosis and treatment of various disease states, notably including recognition and treatment of heart failure. He has been involved in numerous clinical trials of treatments for type 2 diabetes, including pivotal studies of SGLT2 inhibitors and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and he served as Vice-Chair of the American Diabetes Association consensus document focused on heart failure in diabetes.
