Dr. Shivani Agarwal, MD, MPH, is a board-certified endocrinologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Agarwal’s research focuses on three broad areas: 1) clinical care delivery and healthcare transition for young adults aged 18-35 years old with type 1 diabetes; 2) racial-ethnic disparities in type 1 diabetes and advanced diabetes technologies; and 3) clinical interventions to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 effects on diabetes, including subcutaneous DKA protocols and continuous glucose monitoring in the inpatient setting. She has been funded by the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange and Helmsley Charitable Trust, and is currently funded by the NIH-NIDDK.
