David N. O’Neal attained a medical degree in 1985 at the University of Melbourne. He has been a specialist in endocrinology since 1991. His current appointments include Professor with the University of Melbourne Dept. of Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Senior Endocrinologist with the Dept. of Endocrinology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and lead of Internal Medicine at Mercy Public Hospitals. He also has adjunct appointments at Associate Professor Level at the University of Sydney and University of Notre Dame. He leads an insulin pump service and a clinical trials unit at the University of Melbourne. He has had a long‐term research interest relating to the development of technology related to glycaemic control and the interface of patients with diabetes and technology.
