Moshe Phillip, MD

Prof. Moshe Phillip graduated (MD) from Ben Gurion University, Beer Sheba, Israel in 1983 and specialized in pediatric endocrinology in 1989-1992 at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Since 1997 he is the director of the Institute for Endocrinology and Diabetes, National Center for Childhood Diabetes at Schneider Children’s Medical Center, Petah Tikva and serves as Vice Dean for Research and Development as well as a Chair of the Irene and Nicholas Marsh Fund for Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. Previously (1992-1997) he served as division head in Pediatric Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center at Soroka Medical Center in Beer-Sheba. Prof. Phillip is heading the Diabetes Technologies Center at the Institute. He is active in both clinical and basic research focusing on growth, the epiphyseal growth plate, nutrition, obesity and childhood diabetes Prof. Phillip is an active member of national and international organizations such as the Israeli National Committee for Child Health Care, the Israeli National Committee for Diabetes, International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, The European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology. Prof. Phillip served as chairman of the Educational and Training Committee and was a member of the Clinical Practice Committee of the ESPE. Prof. Phillip was co-organizer of the consensus meeting (2006) on the use of pumps in the pediatric age group in collaboration with ESPE, ISPAD, LWPES and endorsed by the ADA and EASD as well as on the use of CGM in the pediatric age group (2011) in collaboration with ESPE, PES and ISPAD. Prof. Phillip is co-chairman of the International Conference for Advanced Technologies and Treatments of Diabetes (ATTD) and of the International conference on Nutrition and Growth (N&G) etc. Prof. Phillip has published more than 240 manuscripts, including books (including the ATTD Yearbooks) and chapters in books.
