Dr. Sue A. Brown is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Virginia in the Division of Endocrinology and the Center for Diabetes Technology. Dr. Brown is active as a principal investigator of clinical trials related to automated insulin delivery (AID) technology and conducted within the Center for Diabetes Technology. Dr. Brown has been the sponsor of Investigational Device Exemptions (IDEs) for multiple AID trials approved by the FDA. Dr. Brown has served as a clinical study chair for two multicenter studies in the US that represent the pivotal trials of two AID devices. Dr. Brown is the co-PI on several NIH grants investigating methods to improve glycemic outcomes and create novel treatment options for people with Type 1 Diabetes. In addition to research, Dr. Brown is an active endocrinologist with an academic clinical practice and serves as one of the core teaching faculty in the UVA endocrinology fellowship program.
