Andjela Drincic M.D. is a clinical endocrinologist and a Professor of Medicine at University of Nebraska Medical Center. She was raised in Serbia and after completing School of Medicine at University of Belgrade, she finished residency in Internal Medicine in Chicago and later a Endocrinology Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. For the past 10 years she has been serving as a Medical Director of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center at UNMC, providing direct patient care and facilitating programmatic development, in inpatient, outpatient setting as well in transitions of care, with aims to improve patient outcomes. She has been on the forefront of innovative models of care, creating systems that facilitate better care for patients with diabetes and closely monitoring quality outcomes. This has led to national recognition for Nebraska Medicine for their success in reaching inpatient glycemic goals, as well as decreasing readmission rates. She has authored many papers and has been a writing member of the Endocrine Society Inpatient Hyperglycemia Guidelines that came out in 2022. She has been an invited speaker at national/international conferences, including ADA, Diabetes Technology Society etc. She even has the position of a subject matter expert for the CDC. As a clinician scientist, she is dedicated to translating scientific research in the field of inpatient glycemic control into the real-world setting, helping patients and their healthcare providers reach desired goals.
