Daniel J. Rubin, MD, MSc, FACE

Dr. Rubin is a Professor of Medicine in the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, magna cum laude, from Amherst College. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree with Research Honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Dr. Rubin completed Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University, Endocrinology Fellowship at Boston Medical Center, and earned a Master of Science in Epidemiology with a concentration in Biostatistics at the Boston University School of Public Health. In the Section of Endocrinology at Temple University, he serves as Deputy Section Chief and Director of Clinical Research. At Temple University Hospital, he is Chair of the Glycemic Control Taskforce. Creator of the DERRITM readmission risk predictor and the DiaTOHC Program, his research focuses on predicting and preventing hospital readmissions among people with diabetes as well as inpatient and post-discharge diabetes management. Dr. Rubin has been continuously supported by a variety of funders, including the NIH, the American Diabetes Association, and industry.
