In Memory of Dr. Jan Lipson

Dr. Jan Lipson

On Sunday, July 18th, a great friend of Diabetes Technology Society, Dr. Jan Lipson, lost control of his bicycle and crashed into a tree on Highway 9 at Redwood Gulch Road in West Santa Clara. He was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m.

An outstanding scientist with a distinguished career, Jan Lipson most recently served as chairman and chief technical officer of C8 MediSensors in Los Gatos, which develops noninvasive monitors for glucose measurement.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, two grandchildren, his parents, and a brother.

C8 and Diabetes Technology Society have established a memorial fund that will be devoted to assisting young scientists with technology applications.
